Co-Owner

Sam Jervey

Sam has a background in farming and work with native plants but has primarily spent the last nine years pursuing natural building, masonry heaters, wood-fired ovens and timber framing. His passion for building is rooted in a love of the natural world, and the role humanity plays in it.

Noah Zitzer

Noah began his journey in timber framing and natural building in 2019. He received formal training in straw bale and natural building at Community Rebuilds (Moab, UT) and timber framing at The Island School of Building Arts (British Columbia). This led him to work with New Energy Works and Cascadia Vernacular in Oregon. Noah enjoys teaching others and learning from them in return. He lives in his timber framed tiny house in downtown Eugene. He’s always excited to share his latest projects and passions, and his enthusiasm is contagious!

Andrew Kramer

Andrew is a generous and grounded individual who brings perseverance, feeling and attention to detail to his many crafts. His lifestyle is largely informed by the awareness of human's impact on the earth and a desire to tread lightly. He is very welcoming and is usually the first in a group to offer to prepare a meal for everyone, or to host a gathering.

Our Offerings

Our focus is on promoting construction that utilizes lumber that we have milled ourselves. This can either be a design, mill and build project where we are involved at each stage, or simply a milling project to support you in gathering the materials you require. We are certified through the Oregon Lumber Grading Program to grade our lumber. This means that we can offer framing packages for use in permitted and engineered residential projects. If you are planning to use wood from your site for any permitted projects, contact us while the trees are still standing so that we can plan together.

As stated above, we are a design, mill and build focused business. For most of our projects, we take care of all of the design work in house. We enjoy the creative process of working with you to design the structure(s) that will meet your needs most.

For projects that involve more than carpentry, we will be looking to work with materials that are as local and natural as possible. One of our primary goals is to encourage more intentional sourcing and use of materials in construction and to help create a cultural shift in how we view/relate to our buildings.

In addition to providing milling and building projects for private clients, we also offer timber framing classes.
