Timber Frame Sawhorse Workshop (Oct 3-4)
Service Description
In this weekend long workshop, students will learn the basics of timber frame joinery. You will be introduced to a variety of hand and power tools for laying out and cutting joints and will leave with a set of your own sawhorses to take home. We will discuss some different methods of joinery layout and students will put this theory to practice. All power tools will be provided, however, students should come with their own, 1" or 1 1/2" chisel, a hammer or mallet, a utility knife, pencil, eraser, framing square and a Japanese pull saw. Additional tools that are helpful but not required are a block plane, combination square, chalk line and 7 1/4" circular saw, as well as a set of personal sawhorses if you have them. This class will be held October 3-4 in Eugene, Oregon. $50 early bird discount ends September 1st and the tuition will increase to $400. Snacks will be provided but students are expected to bring their own lunch.
